Judythe Sherwood, a Northwest oil painter, is an emerging and recognized still life and portraiture artist. Judythe paints with an impressionistic flair and a saturated color palette on canvases of all sizes, with a particular affinity for larger pieces. Her work depicts a variety of subject matter and exemplifies a painterly approach. Her appreciation for brush control and technique stems from her earlier work in pen and ink.
Since beginning her study of oil painting in 1989, Judythe has mastered her skills by attending top-tier art workshops in several countries and studying with other accomplished artists including: Carolyn Anderson, Julann Campbell, Jean Chambers, Dorothy Lampl, Ned Mueller, CW Mundy and Zhaouming Wu.
She is a member of Oil Painters of America and Washington Artist Group (WAG), a local Northwest art critique group. Arts Collector magazine featured Judythe and other WAG artists in its March 2008 issue.
